The Foundation was created in Memory of Carol Fay Kestenbaum. We strive to carry on her dreams. Carol was an education major and her desire to work with children inspires us to support programs that improve the lives of our youth, one child at a time. Through the Foundation’s supporters, we are gratefully able to continue Carol’s legacy.
The Carol Kestenbaum Foundation is dedicated to helping young people build strong self esteem; empowering them to make positive choices. Through Carol’s Circle, a year round program run by Project Morry (http://projectmorry.org/) girls learn how to navigate the complicated messages that society sends them. Building confidence and strong sense of self is the focus of this program.
CKF also supports the Long Island Crisis Center’s Community Education Program. Trained counselors visit High Schools to speak about suicide prevention; and we are saving lives. This year the program was expanded to include a workshop on Cyber Bullying Prevention. http://www.longislandcrisiscenter.org/
